UPDATE! Variety is reporting that the X-Files sequel will hit theaters on July 25, 2008.

Coming Soon is reporting that the new X-Files movie is actually, literally going to start shooting – with cameras, actors and all – this December.

Here's the scoop: Chris Carter himself will be directing from a script he wrote with Frank Spotnitz. David Ducovny and Gillian Anderson are both expected to return in their iconic roles. They're shooting in Vancouver.

If you're watching the casting breakdowns for a role, it's being called Done One.

But what subtitle will the movie bear? I loved the subtitle for the original movie, Fight the Future, but what moving catchphrase from the series will this one have? Resist or Serve?

For that matter, will this movie be a stand-alone adventure, or will it delve further into the show's vast mythology?
