Stage actor David Murray has been cast as the villainous Destro in Stephen Sommers' upcoming movie G.I. Joe.

Murray's extensive theater credits include Dream, Macbeth, South Pacific, Riders to the Sea, The Plough and the Stars, Romeo and Juliet, A Slice of Saturday Night, The Forbidden Planet, Exiles, The Ginger Man, The Importance of Being Earnest and The Cherry Orchard.

On film, you may have spotted him as a thug in Batman Begins.

According to IESB, the vast mythology surrounding Destro in the comics explains that he's the Laird of the Castle Destro in the Scottish Highlands, and that he wears a mask forged from beryllium steel.

I'm still wondering who'll play Cobra Commander. Sam Rockwell? Alan Rickman? Julian Sands?
