Val Kilmer has replaced Will Arnett as the voice of the sentient car KITT in NBC's remake of the series Knight Rider.

Why? Apparently Arnett had a conflict, which in non-Hoillywood parlance means that Arnett's been doing voice-over work for General Motors for about 10 years. Actors can't do commercial work to endorse two competing brands, and KITT in the new series is a Ford.

Unfortunately for us fans, that means we lose out on Arnett's performance, which I'm sure would have been hilarious. Kilmer hasn't done much besides bore me since Willow (Spartan excepted), but I'll keep an open mind.
