Two new musicals are headed for Broadway – both from very different sources.

Some kickass talent is going to turn Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City into a Broadway musical. Avenue Q book-writer Jeff Whitty and not one but two members of the Scissor Sisters: Jason Sellards and John Garden.

Avenue Q director Jason Moore is set to direct this one, too. They're hoping to bring it to Broadway in time for the 2009-10 season.

• In other theater news: A casting notice has gone out for a revival of Brigadoon, which is also headed to Broadway.
