NYCC’12: NEW X-MEN & UNCANNY AVENGERS

Written by: Gary M. Kenny, CC2K Comics Editor

The best part of NY Comic Con are the panels. Marvel has announced some serious stuff in the X-Men world and we have the scoop for you. SPOILERS

New X-Men #1 is about the original 5 X-Men: Jean Grey, Cyclops, Angel, Iceman, and Beast come from the past and aren’t happy about what they found. It’s a mix of the legendary X-Men tale: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. It’s going to come out bi-weekly and is written by Brian Michael Bendis with two special artists.

I’m really mixed on my feelings for this new title. It sounds interesting, especially since most X-Men and time travel stories always have a soft spot in my heart. For some reason though, i feel like this could be a mistake and not be the greatest of stories. I guess we are going to wait and see. However, what blew my mind, especially since it came out of left field was Uncanny Avengers. Especially the ending of issue #1. Fantastic premise and execution.

Uncanny Avengers premiered this week. Captain America, Thor, Havoc, Wolverine, Scarlet Witch, and Rogue team up to stop the Red Skull and his new team. After the events of X-Men VS Avengers, Charles Xavier died. Directly following his burial, the evil Red Skull undug Charles and stole his brain. It’s a wild comic and it plans on getting even wilder.
