As many of you may have heard the company behind the upcoming Hack/Slash motion comic (or is it animated movie) made the official announcement at Comic-Con of which actress will be the voice of Cassie Hack. Contrary to what we originally reported here, Allison was not that actress. Instead Heroes alumni Brea Grant will provide the voice of Cassie. During the con I happened to be close to a lot of the major players in this decision, and I felt I should say some words here about that announcement, the decision behind it, and my thoughts on it.
First off let me say here that I won’t be directly quoting anyone involved in this process. I did speak with Allison, Brea, Tim Seeley, and Matt Pizzolo (who is directing the animated feature) but I wasn’t speaking to them in my persona as reporter so their words will remain off the record. I will share some of my impressions of those conversations, but nothing more out of respect for those who were willing to speak with me candidly on this issue.
Hey #AllisonScag4Cassie-ers Fandom Planet over at Geekscape has a NEW AND AMAZING episode up with their second interview with Allison Scagliotti (the G is silent, the O is long). Hosted, of course, by the ever spectacular duo Sax Carr and Tim Powers. Check it out at:
Hey, #AllisonScag4Cassie folk!
Prompted by some tweets of late, I thought I might write a little update for all of you who are still keeping-up-the-tweets and pushing the movement. It has been pointed out that its been a long time we’ve all been tweeting, and people are wondering if we’re doing any good. Well here you go:
Conservatively, the #AllisonScag4Cassie movement has had the following unexpected and amazing results:
1. As the movement connected Allison to Tim Seeley (the creator of Hack/Slash), we facilitated Allison’s writing of the forward to the “My First Maniac” trade paperback. The effects of what we are trying to do are right there in paper and ink. Everyone should pick that up, btw, because it’s a great collection and Allison’s forward is inspired.
There are always exciting developments going on at #AllisonScag4Cassie, but this one is special (and appropriate to the season). In honor of Valentines Day here is a picture of two lovebirds who met during our #AllisonScag4Cassie tweet up. #AllisonScag4Cassie: Bringing People Together. We wish them well!

It’s that time again, folks. Time for another #AllisonScag4Cassie tweet out. This one is to be held on Allison’s birthday. Here’s the details:
When: September 21, 2010
What: Tweet out #AllisonScag4Cassie so we can get it trending.
Who: Everyone is welcome, in fact, the more the merrier. The more people we get tweeting the hashtag the more likely it is to trend. Recruit your friends, acquaintances, family, coworkers.
Why: BECAUSE GEEKS HAVE POWER! (AND it’s Allison’s birthday, wouldn’t seeing herself as a trending topic be a great gift?)
All right cats and kittens, get your typin’ finger ready, and your recruitin’ gears going. Tomorrow we’re going to trend this thing!
The famous @naminational has graciously donated an uncolored version of her most recent AllisonScag4Cassie installment so that we can all get our own crack at coloring it. This is your chance folks, using your preferred coloring method (crayons? digital? colored pencil?) color this up and then post it up on our fan art page.
