Beckinsale Renounces the Underworld

Actress Kate Beckinsale, who’s played the lead character, Selene, in both Underworld and its sequel, Underworld: Evolution revealed that she has no intention of returning to the franchise anytime soon, and that she won’t be making an appearance in the upcoming film Underworld: Rise of the Lycans.

She did mention she wouldn’t mind following in the footsteps of Bruce Willis (as he did with Live Free or Die Hard) and return to the franchise and her character when she’s 50. How that would work, whether there would still be interest in the franchise, and how she’d look in the skin-tight black leather outfit, are just a few questions brought up by such a statement (though she’s so hot she’d probably still look good at 50).

So for all you fans of the Gothed-out-vamp-heroine Selene, you’ll just have to enjoy her ass-kicking on DVD.
