Bloated Final Harry Potter Novel To Be Made Into Two Bloated Movies

The UK Mail is reporting that the final Harry Potter novel, The Deathly Hallows, will be made into two movies.

Oh, joy.

I remember there was talk that filmmakers would break Goblet of Fire into two movies. Then Order of the Phoenix. I'm not surprised they'd want to pull this with the final Potter movie, though sadly, the final novel doesn't warrant this kind of effort.

The UK Mail also reports that their sources inside the studio said that Warner Bros. had ruled out hiring Steven Spielberg to direct the final installment.

That's good to hear, although I haven't "ruled out" hiring Spielberg to direct the film version of my life.

Here's hoping that Joss Whedon comes on as writer and director so he can repair Rowling's lackluster final novel onscreen.
