ImageWhile the Jack Bauers of the world resort such extreme measures as pharmaceutical torture, volleys of automatic machine gun fire, and yelling very loudly at bad guys to save the world from those who have succumbed to violence and hatred, David Lynch is traversing another path :

The David Lynch Foundation For Consciousness-Based Education and World Peace.

Folk singer Donovan and film director David Lynch have campaigned to introduce transcendental meditation into schools and colleges as a crime and stress prevention tool. Now, the duo plan to open the Invincible Donovan University in Scotland.

The pair expect big results: "For a country the size of Scotland it would take only 250 students meditating to protect Scotland from its enemies and to bring peace, to stop violence and drug abuse," says Lynch.

Donovan and Lynch are currently seeking accreditation for the university.

A devotee of the practice of Transcendental Meditation for over 30 years, Lynch feels the time is right to share his experiences with the world, especially with our children.  Lynch has attributed much of his artistic successes to his commitment to TM, dedicating himself to making time to meditate every day.  He has even published a book, Catching the Big Fish , where he candidly shares his personal journeys toward inner-peace and the unlocking of creative potential.

The only drawback I can foresee, is that once Lynch and his confederates have successfully defeated evil across the globe, and elevated consciousness to the next level, there will be less of a demand for films that feature psychotic, drug-addicted, sexually perverted villiains like Frank Black in Blue Velvet.  But I guess I can live with that.

TM centers are located all over the world.  Treat yourself to an introductory class, and then watch yourself create a TV series superior to season 1 of Twin Peaks and a sculpture more captivating than this :
