Is There a Doctor in the House? Del Toro is Feeling Strange

Guillermo Del Toro, who’s attached to direct not one, not two, but four films between now and 2011, might just want to take on another one. Empire Online is reporting Del Toro is toying with the idea of helming a feature film adaptation of Marvel’s Sorcerer Supreme, Dr. Strange.
In an interview he revealed:
“I talked with Neil Gaiman [about writing it]. I said, that’s an interesting character because you can definitely make him more in the pulpy occult detective/magician mould and formula than was done in the Weird Tales, for example…the idea of a character that really dabbles in the occult in a way that’s not X-Filey, where the supernatural is taken for granted. That’s interesting…But I wouldn’t use the suit!"
For those who don’t know, Dr. Strange is a superhero in the Marvel Universe who uses a mastery of the occult and magic to do battle with evil, supernatural entities such as Dormammu, Nightmare, and Mephisto.
