Though The Bourne Ultimatum already manhandled the competition in it's domestic release earlier this year, it won't hit theaters in Japan until next month.  While there promoting the latest spy-thriller in the Bourne trilogy, Matt Damon recanted earlier statements of disinterest in reprising his role as the amnesiac rogue spy,  saying, "If Paul Greengrass, maybe years down the road, was interested in doing another one, then I would do it, too, I don't think either of us completely put the character to bed yet."

Damon also said he would not be interested in facing off against fellow famous spy James Bond.  Wait a minute, what?  Read more after the jump.

Specifically, Damon's comment was, "He keeps himself in very good shape. I would like to avoid any confrontation with Daniel Craig if I can."

OK, so my first thought that some producer in Hollywood was actually thinking about a Freddy vs. Jason style battle royale between these two cinematic spies had me wishing for an emoticon with a fork in its eye, so I could convey my feeling that I'd rather stick a fork in my eye than watch such a travesty.

Then it occurred to me that Damon's comments were probably in response to one of those asinine questions certain reporters can't help but ask, thinking they're being interesting.  Of course, it begs a geek question.  If James Bond and Jason Bourne got into a fight, who would win?  Sound off!
