Sam Rockwell is headed to the moon, and he’s going to be there for awhile. The actor who has appeared in The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, The Assassination of Jesse James…, and Choke is set to star in the film Moon, where he will play the role of an astronaut stranded on the moon for three years. The film will be directed by Duncan Jones, who may have other claims to fame but one that isn’t so obvious is that he’s the son of David Jones, AKA David Bowie. That has nothing to do with the movie, but it’s sort of interesting.

Details are still sketchy at this point concerning how exactly Rockwell’s character gets himself stranded on the moon, but MTV News surmises the film is "a sort of macabre ‘what if.’ As in, what if Neil Armstrong had to wait until Apollo 12 to come back home?"
