I always thought Pete Postlethwaite had a great face for Shakespeare.

The 64-year-old actor died from complications due to cancer Sunday night. I first remember seeing him in The Usual Suspects, but it was a year later that I saw him as Father Laurence in Baz Lurhmann’s Romeo and Juliet. I’ve always been a fan of the good-hearted holy man, and I thought Postlethwaite was such a wonderful fit for Shakespeare’s universe. How could you not gravitate toward a guy with that kind of voice?

He showed up in similarly colorful character roles over the years, and his presence always added to the awesome quotient of any movie I saw.

Got any favorite Postlethwaite moments, guys?
