Poltergeist Remake in The Works; Status of Zelda Rubinstein Unconfirmed

Bloody Disgusting is reporting that Mandate Pictures is about to remake the hell out of the classic scare flick Poltergeist – as soon as the writer's strike is over.

According to Bloody Disgusting, Mandate will remake the Steven Spielberg (I mean, Tobe Hooper) film for MGM. Damn, I didn't even know MGM was still in business.

But Bloody Disgusting didn't offer any details about whether or not Zelda Rubinstein will reprise her role as the eccentric exorciser. Or whether she'll appear naked. Just kidding. Sorry.

Because of the writer's strike, Bloody Disgusting says to watch for more news on this in 2008.
