Ridley Scott will direct a family biopic about the Gucci fashion empire during the 70s and 80s for Fox 2000.

I'm not familiar with the Guccis, but apparently their family history looks like a cross between the Armanis and the Corleones.

More after the jump!

Variety says that Maurizio Gucci won a bloody power struggle that started with his grandfather, company founder Guccio Gucci. Unfortunately, Maurizio made like Sonny Corleone outside his Milan apartment in 1995 and got shot to death. Jesus.

Anyway, the Guccis moved the goods in the 70s and 80s, selling $500 million in goods every year – I assume they only sold clothes.
