This morning we have news that at least one star is locked in for The Avengers, numerous movie trailers as well as the "Last Day" trailer for Gears of War 2, new pics from the Dan Brown adaptation Angels & Demons, the image gracing the cover of Empire magazine (and it's venerable inspiration), and more!
We have confirmation that Robert Downey Jr. will be reprising the role of Tony Stark/Iron Man in Marvel's planned team superhero movie The Avengers, according to an offical press release :
As part of his four picture deal with Marvel Studios, Robert Downey Jr. is appearing as Tony Stark in THE AVENGERS motion picture, as well as reprising his starring role as the larger-than-life leading character in IRON MAN 2. Jon Favreau will return to direct the sequel to the blockbuster IRON MAN, which to date has grossed over $578 million worldwide, as well as executive produce THE AVENGERS.

Anyone remember Towering Inferno? Well Universal is going for a remake of sorts with plans for a disaster epic set in a super-skyscraper. Though reportedly the film will only be called Skyscraper.
