The Morning Roundup: New Bond Movie Spoiler, Marvel Film Updates, Twilight Poster, Uninvited Trailer

Written by: Big Ross, CC2K Staff Writer

ImageThis morning we have news of numerous sequels, reboots, and adaptations, posters for Twilight and Angels & Demons, a major spoiler regarding the fate of a new character in Quantum of Solace, a trailer for The Uninvited, and more!

Not that I want to crush your spirit, but this news item might a little.  Kevin Costner is planning to reprise his role in a Bull Durham sequel.  Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandan are also planning to return in their respective roles, now married and owners of a MLB team that Costner's character manages.

Actresses Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham Carter have joined Tim Burton's production of Alice in Wonderland in the roles of The White and Red Queens, respectively.

I don't know if I can call this next bit a spoiler, but we have the plot synopsis for Marvel's planned adaptation of its patriotic hero in Captain America: The First Avenger:

"Born during the Great Depression, Steve Rogers grew up a frail youth in a poor family. Horrified by the newsreel footage of the Nazis in Europe, Rogers was inspired to enlist in the army. However, because of his frailty and sickness, he was rejected. Overhearing the boy’s earnest plea, General Chester Phillips offered Rogers the opportunity to take part in a special experiment… Operation: Rebirth. After weeks of tests, Rogers was at last administered the ‘Super-Soldier Serum’ and bombarded by ‘vita-rays.’ Steve Rogers emerged from the treatment with a body as perfect as a body can be and still be human. Rogers was then put through an intensive physical and tactical training program. Three months later, he was given his first assignment as Captain America. Armed with his indestructible shield and and battle savvy, Captain America has continued his war against evil both as a sentinel of liberty and leader of the Avengers."

I guess this is a good thing, right?

All those rumors floating around that a third Batman film under Chris Nolan's direction has entered pre-production are completely false, reports IESB.

If you've read that a sequel to 300 is planned, we can confirm that is indeed the case.  Zach Synder (300, Watchmen) spoke at a Q&A after screening some Watchmen footage saying that Frank Miller is going to pen a sequel to his graphic novel, and the only thing Snyder knows about it at this point is that it will take place between the Battle of Thermopylae and the Battle of Plataea, the battle that narrator Dilios is at while re-telling the story of King Leonidas and the mighty Spartans to a new group of warriors at the end of 300.

In yet more comic book movie news, Tom Rothman went on record saying that a "Daredevil. . .reboot, is something we are thinking very seriously about."  Maybe Ben Affleck is available, I bet he'd be great in that role.

In a video interview with IGN actor Columbus Short indicated that Lethal Weapon 5 is "on the fast track".  Personally I think I'm getting too old for this shit.

I'm not sure how to handle this next item, so I'm just going to say that if you want to read about a MAJOR SPOILER from the upcoming Quantum of Solace , click HERE.  But don't say I didn't warn you.

Also, we've got two new posters for you:
