It could be that we've got a leak of the title for the next James Bond movie. And the party responsible seems to be Mr. Bond himself. Daniel Craig was interviewed on UK TV and was asked about the title for the as-yet-untitled Bond 22 film, and replied, "It's more of a number. Because the first movie dealt with him earning his 00 status and now he is 007 for the first time."

Could it really be true that the title is simply 007? When asked point blank, Craig responded by saying he may have said too much.

You are either very smart or very stupid Mr. Craig. I tend to think the former. More after the jump!

If true this would mark the shortest title since the very first Bond film, Dr. No. Personally, I think it would a pretty awesome title. I mean, the latter films of Pierce Brosnan's era were getting little heavy on the cheese. The World is Not Enough? Tomorrow Never Dies?

I like the shorter titles. Goldfinger. Thunderball. Octopussy.

007 would be a sign that this new, more visceral Bond will continue to be the departure we saw in Casino Royale.

And this seems like just the sort of calculated "slip-up" to generate buzz.

Of course, that may just be me. Sound off in the forums!
