The meteoric rise of Cosplay has been one of the best things to happen to geek culture. If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery then Cosplay is the biggest hottest brightest explosion of Fandom for the characters we know and love. Its also one of the reasons people in this country still know how to sew. Got a tear in your jeans? Who do you know that cosplays? Because they can fix it, quickly, and in a hotel bathroom if necessary.

The YouTube fashion and DIY channel “TheStylish” has been working to break into the geek market and for Halloween they are launching a series of fun tutorials on how to make costumes and do character appropriate makeup. Their first few focus on the movie version of the Black Widow costume and that’s pretty cool.

If you want to get into cosplay, or just have a cool and current costume this 31st this might be a video worth your time. Or if you are fans of the video’s star, major cosplay sensation Kit Quinn. Its also a good watch for fans of geek girls kicking butt in leather costumes… so EVERYBODY.

The Stylish has some more geek content, including some focus on the recent Batgirl web series. Check it. Come for the geeky DIY content, stay for the show where drag queens give makeovers.
